Ever had a chance to experience the motion gaming experience on Xbox via Kinect. It’s truly awesome and a unique to see your movements being copied on to the computer screen. There are so many games and your whole family can be a part of it. But what if you can enjoy the same gaming experience on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad? Your jaw must be about to break with that news; especially if you have just bought a new Xbox gaming console. But don’t worry for that; it’s a little different than what you are expecting. Let’s take you to the journey of Motion Ninja!

Motion Ninja is the new iOS app that has been developed by Boolean Game. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or any later version of the operating system. But apart from this compatibility, you have to make sure that your device has support for a front camera as well. Now, let’s elaborate it a little. You must have played or at least heard about the Fruit Ninja app. The game has been highly popular since its release and many new games with the same concept have entered the market. Well, this one is almost the same, with a twist!

Motion ninja is exactly the same as fruit ninja, the only difference being the gameplay and the controls which play a huge role in giving it a “unique” status. As you launch the app, it is the same interface with two different game modes: arcade and classic. As soon as you launch one, your device’s front camera will start operating and you’ll have to place an object in front of the circle marked on the screen. This is the process which you have to follow each time the game is loaded. There are certain guidelines about the object as well, you are holding in your hand. It should be bright, placed at a proper distance and there should be enough light in the surroundings of the device. If you meet these conditions, you are good to proceed.

For cutting fruits into slices, just move your hand and get the results. No need to swipe your finger on the screen. Also, you can even wear a bright colored glove and do the same. This way, you don’t actually need to hold an object to be playing the role of your sword. The graphics of the game are nice and there was no problem encountered for the syncing of the hand movement via camera to the app maybe due to the newest high precision tracking algorithm used to control the game. It all went smooth and nice.

The app is priced at $0.99 which is very much below the par price. After all, you are getting a ninja like experience on your device. Of course, there is only one game for the moment to compare it to the Xbox and the graphics are also not that remarkable. But you can expect more games from the developer with the same concept. Thumbs up for Motion Ninja!

Pros: Xbox + Kinect gaming experience, newest high precision tracking algorithm, just for $0.99.

Cons: some conditions imposed, takes time every time the game loads.
