There are a lot of bubble-shooting games right now in the market and it has become a popular genre in the world of gaming. The concept is smart and simple. You are given a ball or stone to hit and you have to aim correctly at the target. If you hit, you win; if you miss, you are dead. Sometimes, the story is different or in many other cases, the game play is modified. But it is the same wine in new bottle most of the times. The same can be said to be true for the next case, but not completely!
We are talking about the new iOS app, Caveball designed by Renkmobil for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The game requires iOS 3.2 or later version. It is a bubble shooting puzzling action and fun game with an ancient touch. Though the game takes its shape from the same concept of bubble shooting, yet it has a no. of modifications that take it out of the list. With real-life mechanics approach, the game requires you to ‘aim and hit’ with the bat and burst up as many bubbles as you can in the limiting time period.
There are 3 unique game modes – campaign, score attack and multiplayer. In campaign mode, there are a total of 45 stages and 5 different worlds out of which only one is unlocked at the start and as you complete the first one, next one will be available to you. In score attack, you aim is to score as high as you can in a constant going game. Share these high scores on the leader board with your friends and find out the hottest on the grid. But the best one is multiplayer mode where you can compete with your friends online in cross-device challenge. Other than that, there are some bonus balls like balls having birds inside. These give you bonus time and help you score higher.
We stated in the starting that this game is no different than the others concept wise but what they have done is build a nice package. Whether it is the bonus balls, multiplayer online gaming or achievements table, it all adds to the value. With nice mechanics and game play options, it assures to keep your boredom down the bed. With vibrant graphics and nice animations, it is a fun controlling your caveman. Though, we would have liked to see some new concepts in the outlook design.
The app is available for free in the app store. The games are designed to help you enjoy and this is what the app delivers. But still we would like to see some new updates like new worlds, challenges and achievements table. Also, we would like to see integration with social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. for posts and updates.
Pros: nice features, better game play, 45 challenges in 5 different worlds, online multiplayer mode, achievements table and leader board.
Cons: same concept as others, graphics should have been different and unique.
