I don’t think it’s worthy to talk about the different VPN service providers currently available in the market. There are many and most of them are almost same. The only difference that exists is the data plans while the speed is almost the same. But I don’t think that anyone of them is affordable enough or provides satisfactory services that worth the money spent. I have started this discussion today because a new bee has entered the market with promising features. I tested it recently and would want to share my experience with you; it might be beneficial to you as well.

I am talking about the recently released iOS app, VIATUN developed by VIATUN Software. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later version of the OS. As we know that Internet is a field that requires experience for its wider reach and availability and a new comer such as VIATUN can’t be relied upon. But just looking at the specs, I think it can grow to be the leading horse in the near future.

VPN provides internet services for all Mobile Platforms including iOS, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile.  The service offers many benefits over the regular VPN services. It provides you access to the restricted sites and other blocked VOIP services such as Skype in corporate areas. Security of breaching of your Wi-Fi connection from hackers is also promised.

The app interface is very useful for a VPN service as you can even test your connection speed using the Speed Tester in the app. Also, one of the biggest plus point is that the company allows you to use any of the many payment options available such as Cash, Credit Card, PayPal, etc. You can also use the “Live Chat” options available in the app for any payment related issues.

The one area where VIATUN is indisputable is affordability. The plans they are offering for the iOS users are $0.99/month, $4.99/6 months and $9.99/year for unlimited trafficking. I don’t any other service provider offers such a low price unlimited plan at the moment. Also, the app is designed to reduce your trafficking by 80% for better speed and smooth streaming.

But the question still remains as the company has limited connectivity at the moment and it requires a lot of time for them to develop. I checked out their free trial which is available for 3 days with a 1GB limit and the results were satisfactory. The speed was normal as other Service Providers but then this one is too much cheaper. So, I would recommend each one of you to check it out, at least the free trial. The shot can be worthy.

Pros: affordable; average speed; many payment options available; free trial available.

Cons: limited connectivity.
