Social networking is obviously at its apex at the moment with almost 1/4th of the population on earth registered on one or the other social platform. But despite being so popular, it’s always critical to praise it. You may have hundreds of friends on Facebook, but it’s very much possible that you haven’t met a single one of them in your life. So sometimes it feels that social platforms have built a mansion around us and though it’s a comfortable place to live in, it’s the only space we have left now. There’s no sense and calmness of fresh air. But what if we create a door in this mansion so that we can anytime leave out and come in!

Well, that’s not an idea to my credit but to the developers of Gamesite who have developed this iOS app to help you meet with strangers and spend some quality time playing different “Pick-up” games. The app has been developed by Kyle Coleman and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.1 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Gamesite has a very brilliant concept at its core: using social platforms to help people play with strangers. In fact, when you enter this app for the very first time, you might be completely unfamiliar to all the do’s and don’ts but within a matter of seconds, you’ll be creating your own games. But before that, you may search out many other games being played out in your neighbourhood. Just set a particular length of radius around you and all the events happening inside that circle will be shown to you. Next, you can tap on any game that excites you and with a swipe to the left, you’ve joined the game. After all, these are all open events. In case you have any queries, you can start a conversation with the creator of the game. After you’ve joined a game, a notification will be sent to you one hour before the game as a reminder.

Creating a game is no big fuss. Just set the date, time, add some event info and post it for everybody to join. Also, it’s very easy to spread the word on all social platforms with just one click. So now you don’t have to wait for your friends to get free from their girlfriends before you can finally hone your football skills.

Gamesite is quick and user friendly. The swipe gestures reduce the paper work to zero and the interface of the app has also been very smartly designed to accommodate each and every feature without making them feel congested. You can start following people around you who keep organizing new games and if you’re a good host, you may soon be widely followed as well.

So what I can epitomize is that Gamesite has an amazing concept at heart and has been executed even better!

The app is available for free in the App Store.

Pros: swipe gestures; user friendly UI; join pick-up games; create your own events; follow and get followed; tap and share; free.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
