tTorrent Lite – Free Bit Torrent client for Android

tTorrent Lite is a free Bit Torrent download client for Android devices, which lets you download content from torrent files, directly to your Android smartphone or tablet. With smartphones and tablets being increasingly used to store and view multimedia content, downloading music or movies to a PC and then transferring the content to a smartphone or tablet can become a cumbersome tablet, especially if you are on the move, and not near your computer. tTorrent Lite lets you add and download torrent files directly from bit torrent hosting website to you device. Alternatively, you can also select torrent files stored on your device and start downloads.

tTorrent offers the ability to search for files from within the app. You can choose your preferred Torrent Search engine from a list of popular ones like The Pirate Bay, Bit Snoop, Kickass Torrents, Vertor and the likes. Once you enter a search term, you are presented with a list of results that you can select from for download. Selecting a result automatically adds it to the download queue, and you can view the download progress on the All or Downloading tabs. tTorrent also includes RSS support, which notifies you of new files being added to that torrent site, along with the option to automatically download files which match with a keyword you can specify. This is useful for in case of TV shows, where you can specify the Show name, and let tTorrent automatically download new episodes that get added to the site.

Multiple torrent downloading is also supported, along with the ability to specify which connection you want to use – WiFi Only, WiFi and WiMax only or Any Available connection. So while at home, you could select the Wifi Only option, and switch to Any available connection when outdoors.

You can set limits on the upload and download speeds too. tTorrent Lite has an upper limit of 250 kB/s for downloads, and is ad-supported. In case you dont want your download speed capped, and an ad-free experience, you would need to go for the Pro version which costs a shade under $4.

tTorrent has an easy to use interface, without any extra bells and whistles in the visual department. If you are familiar with the usage of torrent clients on a PC, you should have absolutely no trouble using this app, right from the word go. If you are not familiar with the concept of torrents, and usage of torrent clients, you would probably not be checking out this app anyways.
