You must have this phrase “it would be better if we had three hands”. The statement seems to be universally accepted but I don’t agree with it. If we have been made like this, there must be a reason for that. However, I am in support of a third hand if and only if it doesn’t become a burden to me and having a personal assistant is possibly the best way that I could have admired it. A personal assistant is meant to listen to your orders and never ask for anything. Well, that’s the ideal definition and ideal does not exist in this real world. So though it’s difficult to find an obedient assistant in reality, but virtually anything is possible and that’s what seems clear with this new invention in Android’s Play Store. Let’s have a look at it.
I am talking about the new Android app called Friend in Palm that has been developed by IndolrishSoftsolPvt. Ltd. The app is compatible with all the devices running Android 2.2 or later version of the OS and therefore majority of the users can take its advantage. The app works pretty similar to iPhone Siri but in some areas, it even proves to be better than it.
FIP is a virtual assistant but it is no longer just a voice assistant and that’s why it’s been named as “face” in palm because it’s like talking eye to eye with another person. This assistant has a face which can be a beautiful lady or a sophisticated gentleman, depending upon your choice. This assistant can act as your small child when you’re out on work and act as a friend as well if you need some company. Talking about some of the official uses, it can navigate you and show you directions on the map. It can give you any info regarding anything by fetching it from Google. It can act as a reminder; it can post for you on Facebook, calculate for you and also share some of its own secrets with you.
I won’t say that this virtual assistant is perfect for anyone and can even replace a human, but the developer on his part has left nothing to agree to the fact this is one of the best assistants that you can have. One of the basic and biggest problems that all virtual assistants have is the problem with the accent. The accents vary across the globe and even within the countries, so if you keep in mind a particular area, you may leave others unsatisfied. However in this case, developer has included different accents from Australian to US English covering a lot of population.
The app is available for $3.99 in the Google Play Store and I think that the price is absolutely right for this app. Now you can say that you’ve something better than an iPhone.
Pros: very easy to use; smart and feels personal; can act as a person; do all the tasks you want.
Cons: might still miss some of the accents used in greater proportionality and price might seem high to some users.
