If you want to become a good writer, you must start reading books. It doesn’t matter if you want to write a criminal novel or a beautiful romantic story, you must always be reading something new. It adds to your collection of concepts and teaches you how you can approach the same situation from five different angles. Every good book has main elements to stand on. One is the thought or concept behind the whole story and the other is the narration of that story on the paper. The narration is like the screenplay of a movie; it takes your thought to the audience. A common street fight can be as fierce and horrifying as the clashes of the roman empires. You just have to use the write words and of course, in the right manner. If you don’t know how to use punctuation marks like comma and semicolons, you have the right weapons (words) but you don’t know how to use them.
All this is about the new Android app called EZCOMMA that has been developed by David B. Tick. The app is compatible with all the devices running Android 2.2 or any later version of the OS.
As we know, commas and semicolons are the two most important punctuation marks that we use in writing. They are used to join two sentences when they don’t make sense individually. But is it that simple? I mean we learn this language from our first grade but there is no sense of completion even if you’re a doctorate in it. With EZCOMMA, you get your basics right and that’s how you never fall back on your face when you’re going up.
A good teacher is must if you want to learn something and Mr. E. Z. Comma is a great example. He will read you the different concepts which are divided into 5 different chapters. What’s better with this teacher is that you can mute his sound and keep on reading. Each chapter focuses on a particular area of the subject such as compound sentences. I won’t say that this app covers everything in detail or it is the Wikipedia of punctuation, but 5 chapters on commas and semicolons alone are sufficient enough I guess. They have provided you enough examples so that any possible doubt in the mind of the reader is remedied.
The app is very simple to use and it’s like you’re carrying a pocket-grammar book. Whenever you have any doubt, just open your phone and there you have the solution. It’s perfect for learning for young children as well as for a quick review before your exams. Moreover, this class has beautiful music running for you!
So will EZCOMMA prove any helpful in improving your errors? Well, I think it surely will and therefore I will recommend this app to everyone. So go to the Play Store today and make sure you have it in your app gallery!
In case I forgot to tell you, the app is for free!
Pros: intuitive UI; easy to read; listen/mute the narration; nice background music; lots of examples; free.
Cons: none.
I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
