Imagine yourself being stuck in a strange alien world and having to find your way back home to Earth. And having to fight alien enemies along the way, with a little help from other alien friends that you’d be making on your journey. And doing all of that in a visually brilliant action-packed environment right on your iPhone or iPad. If you think that’s going to be a lot of fun, you should try the new game by eiVix called Galaxia Chronicles.
Galaxia Chronicles is the story of a little boy called Noddy, who is living in an orphanage at Rio De Janeiro. As fate would have it, he gets kidnapped by a group of aliens one night. But wait, the aliens who kidnapped Noddy get attacked by another race of aliens, and in all the confusion Noddy ends up getting stranded on a distant alien world called Galaxia. Now it is up to you to help Noddy find his way back home. Along the way you will make new friends and newer enemies, and you must navigate your way through all of them and fulfill your destiny.
Galaxia Chronicles is a fun platformer game with a healthy dose of RPG thrown in. The graphics however are brilliant, and the game is optimized for playing on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2 and iPad 3. While it is supported on older devices like the original iPad, it is likely to run a bit slower due to the high-resolution graphics and animations.
The game involves jumping off edges, leaping on to walls, and dodging enemies and foes, in a breath taking environment of Galaxia. There are 35 different levels all set in different worlds, and each one is better looking than the last level. You will be required to collect crystals along the way, and your friends and enemies that you encounter during your journey will reveal secrets about the crystals as well as disclosing some magic tricks that you can use to your benefit during your quest.
The gameplay is engaging, and the controls are pretty simple to learn. Noddy can be navigated using the sensor controls as well as you can fight your enemies at the same time. The game features some nice background scores which seem to be well matched to the environment and the theme. Graphics, and I repeat this, are awesome looking, and really bring that retina screen on the iPhone 5 or iPad 2/3 to life. Initial levels are a bit slow and not so difficult, with difficulty quotient increasing as you progress through levels.
Galaxia Chronicles is available in the App Store for $2.99, and is well worth the price if you like games with great graphics and an engaging storyline. There is also a free version called Galaxia Chronicles LITE that is available, which has limited gameplay options, but can be tried out before you go for the whole deal.
Overall Galaxia Chronicles offers really good graphics and animation, has an engaging and endearing story, easy to use controls and a matching soundtrack to boot. If you are after a fun and exciting platformer, with great graphics, you won’t be disappointed with this one.
