When you’re at a private function such as a wedding, it’s obvious for you to take selfies and click photos with others. But there are too many cameras rolling around and you don’t know which camera took the group photo. After the event, you’re just left asking everybody for that particular photo and it’s really tiresome and awkward. But if you could connect all those cameras so that all the photos clicked would automatically go to a folder that’ll be shared with everyone in the house, wouldn’t it be a better option! Now, you don’t miss a single photo and whether you’re part of all the crazy shots of the night or not, but you’ll definitely get to check them all out. So if you agree, let’s check out Dudr!

Dudr is the name of the latest iOS app that has been developed by Arthur-Film GmbH. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.

With Dudr, all that you and your friends need to do is just tap the “start” button simultaneously and keep it pressed till all the friends near around you are added in the private network. Now, you all have 24 hours to click 24 photos a piece, not more than that. Once you’re done, you’ll get a link to the album where you can check out the photos clicked by you and your friends. So it’s really a very slick app to use, at least the concept on the paper is revolutionizing. But how much have they managed to execute the plan?

Well, I’d say more than half of it. But there are some key points which they missed out. For example, all the photos will be saved on their server. Though the last batch won’t be overrun by the new one, but you cannot download the photos to your phone. So every time you’ll have to watch them online. There’s another ‘minor’ issue which can be really dangerous for some not-so-good photographers and that is: you can’t delete a photo. So if there’s a bad photographer behind the camera, beware to pose for it or you might get a “bad tattoo” stamped on your chest for the whole life. But don’t worry! The developers are planning to rectify these problems very soon.

There are some additional cool features as well. If any of your friends is not nearby, you can send him/her an invitation and then you can add him/her to the group. So this way, this app can be used over long distances as well. The UI of the app is very simple but could have been better in terms of appearance and design. The aesthetic value lacks a little bit but the results are very satisfying. So overall, this is a very good app for your friend/family circle!

This app is available for free in the App Store.

Pros: share photos automatically in a private network; slick interface; invite friends over long distances; free.

Cons: can’t delete/modify photos; pictures are stored on server and can’t be downloaded.

I will give this app 4 out of 5 stars.
