I’ve never been to any army camp neither have I been a part of any war, but after playing games like Call of Duty, I can surely say that their job is the toughest whether physically or mentally. There is constant bombing around you and bullets flying in the air and amidst this, you have to find yourself a way to kill your enemies and save your men. There is bloodshed on both sides and it is your duty to carry your dead men with you so that they can be cremated. So though it might not be possible for me to take you to a real battlefield, why not experience the reality on your Android device? So tighten your seat belt and make sure you are wearing a bullet proof jacket because this journey is going to be gruesome.
I am talking about the latest Android app called Valkyrie. The app has been developed by Bifrost Studios and they are the same developers who have developed successful Android games like Photon, Hot Tail, etc. The app is compatible with all the Android devices running Android 2.0.1 or any later version of the OS.
Your mission in the game is to collect the souls of the dead warriors so that they can be taken to the final resting place in the hall of Valhalla. While I thought initially that the game might involve heavy gun shells and fighting in a battlefield, it is more of a Temple Run game. Though the concept is completely different as you’re not running away from some monster, but the gameplay is very much similar as you keep running while collecting as souls as possible. Two thumb controls help you a lot to stay in the game.
The graphics of the game separate this game to a unique zone of itself. What if there isn’t a battlefield, the graphics of the game will blow you apart. They form a part of the battle scene and add a fictitious side to the game. It appears as if you are travelling in a world of magic. The pace of the game is good and you have to keep your eyes on the screen for every micro second of the gameplay. Also the camera view chosen for the first person might not be agreeable to everyone, but I think that view has generated a lot more suspense in the game. You have to jump, slide across the bridges and deactivate walls while running and you can see the danger coming to you. So it’s a whole new experience.
The app is available for $1.99 in the Play Store. In my opinion, you cannot find a better game than this one at the same price. In fact, you can’t find a game of this potential right now anywhere. The only problem is that the game crashes sometimes. I hope the developers will be working to fix it.
Pros: amazing graphics; good camera angle; fast paced; two thumb controls; suspenseful.
Cons: crashes sometimes.
