Hunger can break down even the strongest. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man, woman, child or even an animal, hunger strikes everybody with its hunter and nobody can survive that for long. We have seen many instances in the past where some areas were so poverty-stricken that food had to be supplied from other parts and when the packets were dropped from the helicopters, you could see them all fighting for that one bite of food. But today we’re here for a good cause because a NGO has developed an iOS app called Hunger Crunch and the collection of all in-app purchases of this app will go to different charities for feeding orphan children across the world.
Hunger Crunch has been developed by Rice Bowls and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The very first impressions of Hunger Crunch will remind you of “How to train your Dragon” because you’re sitting on a beast who looks like Dragon. But your aim here is to stomp upon hunger minions and destroy them while eating on delicious candies. The candies are placed all over the screen and some candies are very high in the sky. So you have to stomp upon special bouncy pads that will throw you back in the air much higher. But be careful when stomping upon these ground creatures/objects because some of them are carrying flames and you’ll lose a life if you fall upon them by mistake. Same will be the consequences if you hit a flying creature from below. So make sure your jumps are timed perfectly.
The controls are very simple as you just have to tap for a jump. But there are many obstacles in the air as well as on the ground. Moreover there are candies all over that you have to collect and some hidden collectibles that are difficult to reach out. So you must find the right combination of running on-ground and flying in the sky. There are many power ups for higher jumps or more speed or magnet and they can all be purchased in exchange of candies you collect. So missing a lot of candies will prevent you from a shot at these power-ups. But don’t worry as you can still buy these upgrades via in-app purchases.
The app is very refined in terms of performance and visual graphics. The colours are glossy with slick animations. There’s a nice ring to them; a sense of charm that cheers you up. There are 12 levels in total with boss fights at subsequent intervals. While the levels are challenging, the boss fights are even difficult to conquer. So be prepared for some interesting adventures on your way to “App-e-tital Satisfaction”!
The app is available for free in the App Store.
Pros: glossy and charming graphics with refined animations; boss fights; hidden collectibles; power ups to unlock; in-app purchases to be donated to charity for feeding orphan children; free.
Cons: none.
I will give this app 5 out of 5 stars.
