Puzzles are always interesting and one’s appetite is always empty to ask for more. There is some uniqueness and a “never before” taste with each new puzzle and thrust for completing more and more. It is like a cocktail; once tasted, it’s hard to leave with the kind of addiction it has. We have many puzzles in the App Store most of which are similar copies of the original concept. I personally like the block puzzle to fit some shapes in a certain limited area. But a new game has recently stepped into the iOS market and we are very excited about it.
The puzzle game we are talking about is “Hey, It’s My Turn!” that has been developed by Pixel Hauz. The universal app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later version. It has also been optimized for iPhone 5. We talked about the puzzle but don’t know what kind of puzzle it is; of course it is not a repeated concept. Otherwise we would not have been reviewing it.
The game consists of two modes: stage and time crisis. In the stage mode, there are 8 different difficulty levels. Choose one of them and start the game. The game starts with a 3×3 grid which will later convert into a 6×6 grid, as you reach higher levels. The gameplay is a little bit difficult to understand in the beginning and mind boggling as well. But you’ll soon become familiar with it. In the 3×3 grid given, first two rows will be filled with some faces. The last row will be empty. Your job is to fill the last row in the correct sequence which you’ll figure out looking at the filled rows with the faces given at the bottom. After filling the first spot, the remaining two have to be filled wisely to complete the level. After completing every 10 puzzles, you’ll get an extra life to survive your journey longer.
In the time crisis mode, as the name explains, you’ll be fighting against the clock to complete levels before the time runs short. On solving each puzzle, you’ll earn some more time to your stock. But if you’re still in confusion regarding the gameplay, just open the app on your device and after one or two tries, you’ll figure it out yourself as it’s a little complex to explain.
There are endless sequences for each stage and you can replay it with a different solution. The graphics are good with some “happy” music in the background just indicating it is more of a childhood game. But the difficulty level is very high, especially after the 6th level. The game center with online Leaderboard and Achievements adds more spices to the dish and allows you to match your scores with other users.
Overall, the app is enjoyable and a complete time killer. It sharpens your mind and improves your reaction time. Moreover, it is free. So, you have nothing to fear of, do you?
Pros: new and addictive gameplay, endless fun, high difficulty level, game center with Leaderboard and Achievements, free.
Cons: a little bit childish in appearance and music.
