Buying a vehicle is like adopting a baby; your job as a buyer is not just to pay the requisite amount but to maintain it over a long period of time. Every time you take it out for a ride, it’s your responsibility to bring it back home in the same condition or even better. So servicing it at regular intervals of time or should I say checkpoints, which are determined by the distance traced by your vehicle, are must to secure a longer life. But there is more to it. A longer service life also means that if there’s a potential buyer in the market who’s looking for a second-hand car, yours will be on the top of his list and you’ll get a handsome amount in return. But a body fit-from-outside doesn’t need to be internally sound as well, does it? So how’ll you ensure your vehicle’s maintenance to the client?

A new iOS app called AUTOsist has been recently released which has been developed by AUTOsist. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.

How AUTOsist helps you “prove your authenticity” to the client is very simple. When you go for a service, you get a service receipt or bill which shows the part that has been changed/replaced/repaired along with date, amount and other vehicle details. What AUTOsist does is allow you to scan these documents and keep a record of all such receipts related to a particular vehicle. So whether you have one vehicle or two or more than a hundred, it’s very easy to manage the records. First, it saves you from the hassle of keeping all the documents as it becomes a puzzle later on sorting them out. Second, when a buyer comes to you or contacts you and asks for your vehicle details, you don’t have to shoot in air approximating the probable conditions of your vehicle. You have all the records in your hand. So just transfer them to that person via email or whatever way fits best.

The UI of this app is super-easy to use. You can easily toggle between different vehicles. Moreover, if you have something more to add to the data than the attached scanned photos, then you can add custom notes that you can later share with the buyer or keep private whatever’s your choice.

So overall, I’d say that if you own any number of vehicles, you must have this app in your iPhone. It’ll not only save your time recollecting the lost information in the future, it’ll also bring you better investments. After all, now you have a proof to what you say and what’s more important in a relationship than ‘trust’!

The app is available for free in the App Store. So make sure you check it out today!

Pros: intuitive UI; manage records of any number of vehicles; transfer records easily; attach scanned documents and add custom notes; free.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
