Who reads Apps400

People looking for software to use, and people who build it: indie iOS and Android developers, SaaS founders, app marketers, and readers arriving from search on comparison and "best tool for X" queries. Traffic is strongest on the Android and web app categories, and skews India, United States and Southeast Asia.

Most impressions come from older posts still ranking in search rather than from the homepage, so a banner keeps working long after the month it was booked in.

Rates, per site

US dollars, paid up front. Rates shown are per month; the total for the term is underneath. Three months is the minimum booking on every placement.

Total inventory is capped at one leaderboard, one footer strip, one sidebar rectangle, four sidebar squares and two in-article slots. We don't add more, because a page buried in banners stops being worth advertising on.

Across the network

Apps400 is one of twelve review sites run by the same editorial team, including Gadget400, Game400 and WebAppRater. Running one banner across several of them costs a quarter less than booking each site separately.

Ask for a breakdown if you'd rather pick a subset. Not every site suits every product, and we'd rather place you on four relevant ones than twelve loose ones.

Artwork

  • JPG, PNG or WebP. Animated GIF accepted at up to three loops.
  • Under 60 KB for squares and rectangles, under 100 KB for leaderboards.
  • Send the image, the destination URL, and one line of alt text.
  • We host the image ourselves. No third-party ad tags, tracking pixels or JavaScript creatives, because they slow the page down for readers.
  • Swap the artwork once a month at no cost. Tell us and it changes within two working days.
  • Every paid banner carries rel="sponsored" in a clearly separated slot, following Google's guidance on paid placements.
  • Monthly report on request: pageviews for the pages your banner ran on, plus clicks on your slot.

Fit

What works here

Apps, SaaS products, developer tools, gadgets, hosting, app marketing services, and anything a person reading a software review would plausibly want next.

What we turn down

Gambling, betting and casino products. Adult content. Pharmaceutical, supplement and research-chemical products. Essay-writing services. Trading, crypto-signal and financial advice products. And any enquiry whose real purpose is a dofollow link rather than a banner.

This isn't posturing. Off-topic paid placements damaged this site's search performance once already, and we're not repeating it.

Booking

  1. Email the placement you want, the sites, and what you're advertising.
  2. We confirm the slot is free and send an invoice. PayPal or card.
  3. Send artwork and the destination URL. Live within two working days of payment.
  4. We email you a fortnight before expiry so you can renew or stop.

Check what's available

Tell us the placement and the sites you're interested in. We'll confirm availability, usually the same day.
