Whenever I write reviews about mobile phone apps, I view them on how they can be useful to me because that’s the only way I can ask you to download it or not. So, personally speaking I am fond of visiting new places around the world and hang out with my friends and I know how difficult and expensive it can get when you are new to a place. Even I’ve been into such a situation where I came to know the truth about human’s selfish nature. So, it’s better if you plan your trip wisely. While there are lots of websites designed for the purpose, some new apps have also made it to the App Store and are potentially very stable as well. Today, we have one such app called Tripilator. So, let’s find out how much it scores on our meter.

The app Tripilator has been developed by Baffled by Travel. The app is compatible with iPad only and requires iOS 6.0 or later version of the OS which is a down point because one who is travelling tries to be as compact with the luggage as possible and you don’t take your iPad everywhere. If the app had been compatible with iPhone as well, it would have been much better. Other than that, it requires iOS 6.0 and we’ll have to check how many of them fulfil those specifications.

Now, talking about the app, I first thought it to be similar to many other apps with a map and reviews. But no, I was wrong and there’s really much more than that. The app combines many different things into one. First and foremost, you can use it both offline and online but of course, there are some benefits of online over the other. You can see all the attractive sites for a location like New York. Then you can see the related photos, videos and some info as well. You can also see that location on the map and the app also supports directional navigation on the map both for walk and drive. Moreover, you can mark your favourite locations and see a combined map of them all. So, if you want to visit some selected places in a city, just mark them and trace only them on the map removing the rest.

The developers have also included some cheap deals for food and travel. You can check out the deals offered by different distributors and if they are better than yours, go for them. As far as the interface is concerned, it is very neat and clean. Also, the appearance of the app is appealing and I really liked how the whole content was melt into one.

tri4

The app is available for free in the App Store. Everything is right except that it is currently available for a few popular destinations only including Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, etc. So, if you are planning to visit any of those places, don’t forget to concern this travel agency first.

Pros: intuitive UI; beautifully designed; interactive Maps; cheap deals; free.

Cons: only for iPad; for limited destinations.
