It’s proven that the starting years of your baby’s life are most crucial for his/her mental, emotional as well as physical growth and development. It’s the period of harmony when each input of your child gives double the output it would ever produce late down the timeline. But it’s your duty as a parent to stay alert and focus as your one-month old child won’t be coming to you and discuss his future concerns with you. But before you change the diaper of your little baby and get him ready for the battle, do you really have a plan? Babies have the most delicate of bones and muscles and very prone to cramps and fractures. So even if you miss your target by the slightest of margins, you might get your baby in trouble. So wouldn’t it be better if you could consult a Paediatrician first? But don’t trouble yourself visiting one; they’re coming at your home!

I am talking about the latest iOS app called Super Baby that has been developed by SB App. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.1 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Super Baby is the brain-child of two paediatricians, Dr. Patrick Kelly and Karen Holmes, with a combined working experience of more than 18 years. So you know your child’s in safe hands. But how’re you going to get their consult at home? Actually, they’ve their experience condensed into 43 high quality developmental videos that you can access directly from the app. The videos cover different age groups starting from 1 month and going up to 1 year. So as your child progresses in age, size and development, you’ll be working with new videos.

Each video covers an exercise which may be as simple as lifting the head of your baby while he rests on his belly. They’re all effortless but invaluable for the cause. The video shows the proper movements that your baby has to retrace and babies are often good at copying things; so the job becomes much easier for you. Repeating the exercises few times a day is enough to push your crawling child on his legs within a year.

As this is a one-year course, the app takes proper measures to track progress of your child and let you know of any problems that you might be unaware of. You’ll be asked to feed in the birthday, weight and height and in return, you’ll get the baby’s growth percentile ranking to check his progress. Moreover, there are many milestones placed at regular intervals of time to help you easily compare your child with the standards set. The in-app timeline keeps a record of each and every single activity and videos you watched saving you all the retrospection work.

The app is available for free in the App Store. However, the complete video packs are available via in-app purchases. So overall, this is a must-buy app for parents. Do check out this one in the App Store.

Pros: intuitive UI; 43 high-quality developmental activity videos; suitable for all children b/w 1month and 1 year of age; clinically proven techniques; track baby’s growth; timeline; free.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
