If your heart beats for the fast paced cars and bikes and you think you are made of the exact material to bear the pressure and heat of a racing track, then you should better gear up for the following conversation of ours. Today I’m going to review an app called Sprint Driver which is a bike racing app. The app has been developed by FreeS Games and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later version of the OS.

The best thing about this game is that it’s really tough and poses a difficult challenge even for an adult. The gyroscopic controls are considered the best for this kind of a game but it’s really hard to cross the barrier between two trucks with just the exact space left between them as the size of the vehicle. And don’t even think about going off the track as you will be struggling with burnt out trees, cars and other material enough to block your way.

As you start your game, you are given a very basic vehicle and you have to collect as much coins as possible in your way to upgrade to a better one. There are 3 different environments: one with the long straight highway, another with the dry desert area and the third from the snowy mountains. There are three different vehicles for each of those paths and you have an easier way to unlock these vehicles by unlocking them via in-app purchases for coins. The pack of 4500 coins is available for $2.99 and 500 coins for just $0.99. As the app is free of cost, it is ad supported and you have an option to remove these ads for another $0.99.

If you’ve played other bike racing games before, this one is surely going to be among the top two for you. The graphics are real with vibrant colours giving you a rich outlook of the entire scene. In most of the games, the problem is that only broad details are provided whereas everything else is left untouched. However in this case you can see the different bikes, trucks and roadside obstacles clearly. Just one thing where I think the app could have done better is that the game is more about surviving rather than racing. This approach is seen before by many developers and the same is executed here. The tracks are long and straight with many obstacles coming along. If there could be some twists and turns as well then it would have been much better.

I think I forgot to tell you about one major factor – police. Yes, there are police officials chasing you and it’s obvious if you’re driving way beyond the speed limit. So you have to keep an eye on them as well. Do try this one as it’s free and upgrades are also affordable if necessary.

Pros: addictive gameplay; real-like graphics; three different environments; free.

Cons: survival bears more importance than racing.
