What’s your favorite sport? While the possibilities for the Football lovers raising their hands are the most, yet the population of 6 billion is not limited to just one sport indeed. As the flavor changes, the taste is obvious to modify. Whether you sit inside a basketball arena or a basketball stadium, the enthusiasm is same, energy is electrifying and moreover, both are suspense thrillers. So, to keep updated with the latest news of your team, what you do is visit a popular website. But most times, you don’t find the complete news at a single place. Either it is incomplete or available at another source. So, you end up looking around here and there and finally ending in a mess. A better solution is to tie all of them together and enjoy the Wikipedia of sports!

What we mean by tying them together is take all the websites under one roof. This way, you can easily access them all and not missing a single bit. This idea has been brought up by App-Hounds, the developers of the new iOS app, Sports-Hound. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 5.1 or an updated version. As the core idea goes, the app includes a no. of sports websites mostly visited in the world, listed on its homepage. You can tap any one of them to open one with the list out at the bottom for easy access.

The app includes most of the popular names such as YAHOO SPORTS, BLEACHER REPORT, SI.COM, YARDBARKER, SPORTING NEWS, DEADSPIN.COM, THE SPORTS NETWORK, SKY SPORTS, etc. However, you can add your own websites as well not listed in the app which you mostly consider for updates and news. Just tap the add button and enter the URL of the website. The app also offers an option to share a page link on Facebook and Twitter or you can mail them with just one touch. This way, you can share any important news just moments after it is published.

The interface of the app is very intuitive with all the control buttons perfectly fitting the design and within the screen space available. The app offers both regular as well as full screen modes. Also, you can customize your default homepage and select just any webpage you like. You can easily swipe between the different sources and access all of them readily. Also, we must appreciate the developers to be able to provide controls as well as clean view of the page at the same time.

The app is available for $1.99 in the App Store. We won’t say it is less than expected, but it completely fits the pricing slot.

We liked the app and would recommend it to any sports lover. It is a must have app.

Pros: good concept, popular websites pre-included ability to add new websites, customizable homepage and intuitive interface, share your links on Facebook, Twitter or mail them.

Cons: needs some more modification to differentiate it from bookmarks.
