It’s a very common thing with writers that when they’re busy doing something else other than writing, only then do great lines and ideas come to their mind and then they end up using the napkin of the restaurant as their notebook. But it can happen with anyone. Suppose you’ve been given to work on a project and choose your own topic. Then no matter how much quality time you devote, it’s only when you’re going to sleep that the bright ideas knock at the door of your mind. Well I don’t mind it and get up to write that idea immediately. But every one of you isn’t that much active to take his sleepy soul out of bed for an idea that ‘might work’ and by morning, the memory’s washed away with a flood of dreams.

For those who think that noting down on your phone is a good idea, remember that while explaining your topic, it’ll take the shape of an essay and phone texting speed will slow it down further. But we’ve got a solution within and it’s the new iOS app called Share Memo. The app has been developed by  Mocology and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or any later version of the OS. The app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.

It’s a note taking app but certainly not the one you already have on your iPhone. What makes it different are the easy text input methods. Within this app, you are provided with a cursor and you can control its movements with the help of swipe gestures and a trackball provided in the centre of the screen. You can select text, move it and perform many other tasks just like you do on your laptop. Moreover, you must agree that an image can be a more powerful tool than a piece of text. For a writer, feelings and emotions matter the most which can only be expressed beautifully by the brush of a painter. So when you can attach many such paintings and images in a note, no need for words I guess!

There are other tools like calendar and clock embedded right into your note and you can access them directly. You can change the font size and sort memos according to their date of creation, modification date, etc. Your memos are presented in a very beautiful way in the app. The app allows you to share these notes to a lot of different cloud networks like Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, Evernote, SkyDrive, etc so that you can access them anywhere, anytime. Also with services like Evernote, you can use these notes in many useful ways such as reminders.

The app is available for free in the App Store and is available in multiple languages. No matter if you’ve short term memory or not, this can be always helpful in making quick notes.

Pros: fast input methods; smooth cursor movement; integrated cloud services; multiple image support; free.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
