With the time passing by as fast as the bullet train, it’s very difficult to catch the life and even if you succeed; you are standing on the edges breathing heavily. So while forgetting your breakfast or missing your date can be regarded as normal in such a busy schedule, you can’t afford to skip medicines because they are the last steps of the train that you can afford to stand on; otherwise you’ll be off the track soon. We have many reminding apps for bills, groceries, classes, etc. then why not for medicines as well? Imagine a person with the disease of forgetting everything. Then how can you expect him to take medicines on time? I think this one will be a boon for his helpers.

I am talking about the latest iOS app, Medmory that has been developed by Sheldon Technology & Design. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.0 or later version of the OS. The app has also been optimized for iPhone 5. I myself have a bad memory and it’s often for my mother to remind me of my medicine whenever I fall ill. So it’s obvious for me to review this app for you.

The app is just as simple as a reminder but still has some modifications in a regular one so that it can be adapted to full use for pills. Most often we have many different pills to take care of and its usual as well that they all have the same colour. So it’s better if you take their picture and this picture shows up with the reminder. Then you can also add notes on how many times do you need a particular pill everyday. Adding more, you can enter the amount of dosage you have and get notified each time on how many more are remaining.

Other than these features, there is a saving program being initiated by the developers which involves zero investment or fee and is mostly for those without insurance. So in case your medicines cost a heavy investment to your pocket each time, you can get 75% discount using this program. Talking about the UI, I think you won’t encounter any problem. There are many customization options for you. You can always decide on the alert types on whether you want them visual, audio or both. There are many alert tunes as well. Overall, it is a great app for a worry free mind.

The app is available for free in the App Store. I won’t say that this app is a revolutionizing one or has such features that deserved a price tag. But still it is pretty much satisfying and you can always trust it in case you forget your own responsibilities. So don’t forget to check it out in the App Store.

Pros: intuitive UI; adaptive features for pill users; free.

Cons: nothing very much new.
