Rarely do you come across a puzzle that’s so intriguing, interesting, educational and way too addicted! But the developers of Innovation Age of Crafting have managed to pull all those strings very beautifully. I’m talking about the latest iOS app called Innovation Age of Crafting that has been developed by Pollop Studio. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.0 or any later version of the OS.

Innovation Age of Crafting is distributed across 5 different time periods i.e. Stone Age, Antiquity, Middle Age, Renaissance and the Modern Age. If you’ve forgot what you read in your history books in primary and high schooling, then maybe this game is a good option to refresh your concepts. But as I said, education is just one aspect of this game. It doesn’t matter if you love history or not and even if you haven’t been to school, it doesn’t make a difference. Neither does your age matters. The only thing that matters is a curiosity to solve puzzles and mind it, they are challenging.

inn2

Each chapter has 25 levels. Initially, only the very 1st level of Stone Age is unlocked and rest of them will get unlocked only after you clear the previous ones. Starting with the 1st level, you are introduced to the concept of merging. In each level, you have to merge two or more items together and they’ll result into another item. This way you have to club all the present items with one another and reach the final image that’s given to you already. But there are a few problems.

inn3

Not all the items are compatible with anything else. For example, you can club a man with woman, rock, etc. But you cannot combine a stone hammer with a rock. The reason is that in the Stone Age, when man and woman combined they formed family. Similarly, when the man rubbed two rocks against each other, fire was formed. So there’s logic behind every such combination. But if you can’t get them straight away, don’t worry as you can find all the connections under the help tab. Also, tapping on any item will highlight the items it can be clubbed with.

Apart from these combinations, there are many more obstacles such as rocks, ditches, movable tiles, etc which make the puzzle very challenging. Also, you have to finish each game under a limited number of moves or else you’ll end up with poor grades. So you have to think of the shortest route possible. But after a few levels, it’d become quite clear to you that it’s very satisfying if you’re able to clear the level on your own (without taking help), let alone getting 3 stars.

This game has been designed very neatly and sharply. There’s no redundant glitter but beautiful strokes of fineness. The animations are fluidic and the game runs very smoothly.

Innovation Age of Crafting therefore is a beautiful but challenging game that you’d enjoy thoroughly. The app is available for free in the App Store.

Pros: neatly designed; sharp graphics and fluidic animations; challenging but addictive gameplay; 100+ levels; free.

Cons: none.

I give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
