Google is obviously the most busy search engine and everyone who knows what internet is knows about Google. In fact, there are many of us who think that Google is Internet and they are not wrong literally. No matter what you want to search, Google is quick, user friendly and very simple to use. You can even type in a question and get the answer on the very first links. But Google isn’t the answer for all your questions, right? For example, if you want to know about Leonardo DiCaprio, then Google isn’t the best option. You can go to Wikipedia and search for any celebrity or personality and get all the details about him. Of course Google can help you get to Wikipedia, but the route ahead is in no territory of Google. Similarly, if you want some financial guidance or knowledge, then 9W Search is one of the best websites to answer you. Now they have taken out their mobile app as well. Let’s check it out!

I am talking about the iOS app called Ask 9W developed by 9W Search. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.0 or any later version of the OS. It has also been optimized for iPhone 5. Also, the app is available for Android devices and requires Android 2.2 at least.

As I said, the developers of this app are already running a successful website www.9wsearch.com and serve millions of users about their financial problems. On the website, you can ask any question related to your own personal query or any general one and their experts will answer you. They have taken the same approach for the app as well.

The app is just a simple webpage designed for the mobile platform. There are two boxes to enter the data. In the first one, you have to type in the name of the company. Their directory contains every single US listed public company. So as soon as you start typing the name, they suggest the possible names as well just like Google search box does. They have also used a smarter option to give abbreviations to each name so that the users don’t have to type in the complete name.

After typing the name of the company, you can write your question in the second box. You don’t have to write the complete question. For example, if you want to know about the total assets of a company, just type “assets” and possible suggestions will come up. Then just tap on the “Instant Answer” bar and you’ll get the answer immediately. However, if they don’t have an answer for your question at the moment, you can ask them to mail you the answer and they’ll do.

Overall, I think it’s a very neatly designed app. It’s the perfect start for the website to land on the mobile platform. The suggestions as well as the abbreviations make the search a lot quicker than you can find anywhere. Of course, you need an internet connection for this app. By the way, it’s available for free in the App Store.

Pros: neatly designed UI; very quick; instant answers as well as via email; free.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
