Internet has boomed out as the boon of the 21st century. It’s the biggest, cheapest and most easily accessible source of information. This portal can get you anything, literally anything that you can imagine and that you can’t. But any power is beneficial only up to a point beyond which it can’t be controlled and the negative effects start dominating the scene. This is exactly what has happened with internet. When even the adults are addicted to this “social current”, how can the children handle it with care? We get them the latest Smartphone and never care to monitor on their activities. It ends up with them playing games the entire day and it’s no one to blame but you for their poor year-end academic results. But if we could have a remote control to switch-off all the roads to hell, only the “heavenly-routes” would be left and that’s what we’re going to do next!

I’m talking about the latest Android app called Trackidz that has been developed by Cresoltech. The app is compatible with all the devices running Android 4.0 or any later version of the OS.

With Trackidz, though the phone is still in your child’s hands, you’re the one controlling it. After installing the app, you have control over every single activity that is being undertaken in that device. Games are made for fun but when they’re played in excess, they’re nothing short of an addiction. To control the time your child spends on a particular game or any game, you can set a time limit for the day after which the game would be locked and accessible only the next day. You can also add a number of apps to a group and set a combined time limit for them.

As the name states, it’s a tracking application as well. So you can monitor all the activities including messaging, browsing and apps through a different app called Trackidz Dashboard that’d be installed on your device. Using it, you can continuously stay updated to your child’s everyday phone usage. But just tracking the device won’t help; you’re the parent and you must have the proper control as well. Trackidz gives you the power to do so. You can set time schedules during which you can block some or all the activities. So say you’ve set the study time for your child from 5-7PM; now you can be sure that his phone doesn’t disturb him. Also, Cyber-bullying is quite common these days and in case your child becomes a victim of the same, you’d be instantly notified due to a sudden shift in his usage pattern.

Trackidz is like a magic wand in your hand; just wave it and make anything happen. It’s a great tool for parents to at least monitor their children and make sure they don’t end up doing anything wrong by mistake. Though the app is available for free in the Play Store, it’s a free trial for 15 days and after that you’ll have to buy the paid version for $4.99. A very affordable buy for the features, right!

Pros: neatly designed dashboard; monitor online and offline activities; block activities; control time spent on each activity; free trial available.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
