Almost every working employee in this world would admit this: from the moment he joins a company and starts his job, his personal life gets a setback that can never be offset to zero again. The balance never strikes back and you’re almost stuck in this professional world of yours. But if you look at the problem with an optimistic eye, you’ll find that you can get that life back. All you have to do is manage your work timely and make sure that you’re working for the “appropriate” number of hours as your age and health permits you and not more. But how will you figure out this “appropriate” figure? There needs to be some parameter against which you can measure your performance and happiness of life and I guess one such important parameter is “Stress”. A stressed mind never works effectively and affects your personal life even more severely. So let’s begin!

I am talking about the latest Android app called TimeReport that has been developed by Roberto Tucci. The app is compatible with all the devices running Android 4.1 or any later version of the OS.

TimeReport is a simple time-management tool, much like a “diary-of-time” where you record each and every minute of your whole day that was spent in your job. In this way, you prepare a daily chart or say report where you count the number of hours and number of extra hours you worked on that particular day. The time-arrear keeps on building up along the number of weeks and all this data is saved on your device so that you can take a look back any time and check how your performance has been for say, the past month.

Like many people today, if you also have multiple jobs, don’t worry as you can keep an account of each one of them. Just click on the new job button and a new space for daily records is created. You can find them all under the career tab. But why are you keeping a record of all these time-entries? There’s just one answer: to get back to your personal life. As I said earlier, this app measures your stress depending upon your working hours and you can check your current status anytime. So if anytime, your stress bar crosses the par limit, it’s time for you to lower down your work-rate and find an optimum.

The interface of the app is very much refined, resolved and gives you a clear idea of how to approach the app from the starting. You don’t have to get used to it; it’s pretty much natural and spontaneous. The career stats, summaries and stress curves are very easy to read and understand. Moreover, you can edit your sheets anytime giving you a lot of space for corrections and misunderstandings. There sheet-data is recorded as per weekly, monthly as well as annually and there is also provision for different types of working days. If you want to share this data with your co-worker or even your employer, you can easily do by exporting it in CSV or XLS format.

Overall, there’s no doubt that TimeReport is the perfect app for you to get a balanced life.

The app is available for free in the App Store.

Pros: refined UI; weekly, monthly and annual statistics; accountable for any number of jobs; share reports in CSV or XLS format; calculates your stress level; free.

Cons: none.

I will give this app 4.5 out of 5 stars.
