I am a huge fan of bikes and I’m a regular follower of Moto GP. But if you are a true fan of biking, you’d instead be more interested in checking out one of the bike tourneys that are held every year. There are hundreds of bikers in a group roaming around in different cities and their final destination is most probably out of city on a mountain or something like that. If you’ve ever been part of such a crew, than it must have been magical journey and that’s called Hardcore driving. They have many milestones in their journey and as a biker; I would like to share them locations with my friends. But I’m not going to post them all one by one by finding the location on Maps. If there could be something easier so that I could tag that location instantaneously, it would have been much more comfortable.

Say thanks to God because one such solution has arrived in the market. It has arrived in the form of an Android app called Blipp. The app has been developed by Pixeostar. The app is compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 or any later version of the OS. The app is also very small in size and occupies less than a MB of space on your device.

The primary function of the app is to enable you to tag any location that is memorable to you and share it with your friends on Blipp or Facebook. What you actually do is you post a Blipp (location share) on your wall and that is available to all your friends on Blipp as well as Facebook. The post is very similar to a post on Facebook. You can include image of the location, map location and add description as well to describe the event.

Apart from posting, another feature that is very good about Blipp is that whenever you are around one of your friend’s Blipp, you are notified. Also, you can set about whether you want to get notified or not and of whom. For example, you can set the limit to 5 miles around you and you’ll be notified only if one of your nearby friends within that limit posts a new Blipp.

The UI of the app is very simple and easy to use. Every Blipp is just like a Facebook post and I’m sure that you’re pretty familiar with it. Also, there are many customizable settings that allow you to filter your friends according to your preferences. One of the biggest problems with these kinds of apps is that they are very slow in the start. But thanks to the Facebook integration that this problem has totally vanished off its roots. The app is available for free in the App Store and I think you cannot afford to lose it now.

Pros: simple to use; post your map location much like a Facebook post; free.

Cons: there are other location sharing apps in the market as well with similar features.

I will give this app 4 out of 5 stars.
